Hi, I'm Sad Girl. And so are you, probably.

And that's why I've created this diary for us to share.

I hope that if you're reading this, you know you're not alone. Finally, I can have a conversation with someone who understands, I hope.
Once I had a stint at a mental hospital that was so horrifying, unhelpful, and traumatizing that I went home and started a blog just so I could vent about it. I was afraid to write it down somewhere that my partner might see it. Somehow other people found my post, and they commented on it that they too had similar, invalidating experiences. I knew I wasn't alone, even though it felt like it in my real life.

I hope the Sad Girl Diary can be a collection of raw journal entries from women who have been struggling and have had a challenging time trying to access the help they need. This is a place for people who feel alone - to share and connect, to vent about horrible lows, or to celebrate wins when they do happen. Everyone has mental health - so why do we all feel so alone?

We are all Sad Girl, sometimes.

Here's to another day,

Sad Girl

the Sad Girl diary is aims to:

create a community where lonely, isolated femmes suffering from poor mental health can find solace in each other

facilitate open and honest communication about our experiences, where we can exist without the shame or stigma that persists in real life

be a resource for support, whether peer to peer or through our collection of community mental health resources, so there's always somewhere you can turn to to talk to someone who understands
